BMH GIVEAWAY!!!

Okay, I'm going to give away a $20 gift certificate to the Blue Mountain Handcrafts shop next Thursday (Oct. 15th). All you have to do is go to the shop and let me know what you like, what you might like to see in the future, or your thoughs and helpful critiques of the shop in general and leave a comment here about it. I will draw randomly one name from those who leave a comment on this post. If you blog, twitter, facebook, ravelry, website, etc. about the giveaway with a link to the blog say so in your comments with where it was posted and I'll toss your name in the hat twice. Thanks!

Love the project bags, and definitely see one in my future! Your batts are gorgeous and are priced competively. If I didn't make my own, I'd be interested in these, more so if they had a bit of glitz in them. The colors are right on the money though. I loved the colors. You may want to hit some fiber festivals as a vendor to build up a following. Yarns I'd be interested in would be low twist singles with long color changes.

I love your shop! The yarn is beautiful! I see a lot of my favorite color combinations. Seeing your yarn really makes me want to get into spinning and dyeying wool!

I really like the knitting needle holders too. The stitch markers are neat too. I love repurposing old, interesting items, so the vintage fabric and stitch markers made from vintage jewelry are really cool.

The only thing I notice that you may want to consider looking at and editing is the shop announcement area on the home page. There is a lot of plain, black text separated by lines and dashes. It is kind of hard to read and make out what it is about. If it could be stream-lined somehow to make each announcement have some clean differentiation from the others, and maybe have some different colors, icons, and be shorter, that may be better.
I really love your site and plan to return!!!!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE your store! My favorite part about the store itself is the tag line "because a fibre addiction is cheaper than bail." hehehe had me giggling! I also love that you have the sale category right up top because that's always what I go for first!

My friendly criticism of the store itself would be that I think your banner might lack personality. A lot of the fiber stores have a similar kind of look, you know?

As far as content, I love that there's a TON of it! These stores that only have 4 things in them are just funny lookin'. hehe Your caddy bags are just gorgeous and to die for! A reasonable price, too. Your stitch markers are just lovely, and I really like that you offer up some stash busting magazines and books too. I can see myself being more likely to buy them if I can see pictures of a few more projects they offer inside that edition?

Unfortunately, the yarn is the only part of your store I don't see myself excited to buy. I'm not a huge fan of novelty yarn and that's pretty much all you offer. The colours are really pretty, though! I'd be more likely to purchase some smoother spun yarn. :)

Would it be alright with you if I used some of your photos on my blog so I can feature you and your store? :) Maybe even do a little interview? It'd be a first for me! Email me, maybe? Or leave me a comment on my blog? Thanks!

Every time I go to your shop the tag line makes me laugh out loud. My husband can attest that this happens several times a week!

The project bags are great - such a good design with all those pockets - but I'm in love with the Alex's whatever batts... I do love making weirdo yarn and am a sucker for the "whatever made it into the carder" kind of mishmashes!

Lots of positives...

I absolutely love the small sample sizes of various fibers you offer. Perhaps you would want to be sure to say whether you had larger amounts for purchase on all of them? That way if someone tries a new fiber and loves it, they know to come back to you for more!

I also love the blended fibers. I tend to buy them without all the glitz and fire and tinsel etc, so it was nice to see you stock some without those things in them. Lovely colors!

And one thing I wish you carried more of: Just great yarn in unique color
I almost never buy yarn from etsy vendors, but if I do it isn't art yarn. The kinds of yarns that attract me are rich colors on great sock yarns, or special fibers for scarves & hats at reasonable prices. I like things that are unique but still practical for the people I knit for.

Your son has a lovely knack for colors. I love the Alex's Pick. I also love the Beakin Bay yarn and the CaddySax (esp. that teal one). Hm, does this all say something about the colors I like... The Foggy Mtn. Trio is very nice too.

I like that you have lots of stuff in your shop. That's a good thing (and I've added you to my Etsy's favorite list!).

I like the variety in your shop. The stitch markers are adorable. My favorite item would definitely have to be the project bags. Someday soon I will have to get one. I just don't know how I will be able to narrow it down to just one, they are all so beautiful.

blog,
facebook,

As you already know, I LOVE your bags! I also love your bare trees and blue skys, and mountain meadow colorways!

The only critique I really have is that the way the photos are done the items don't jump out at you as much as they could. Maybe try some different angles or background colors when photographing them. For lighter colored items try a black background so it really pops out at you!

And since Thursday is my birthday, maybe I'll get lucky and win :)

I love the Blue Mountain Handcrafts shop! I've made a few purchases recently and found Beth to be so nice and caring about her customers. I recently purchased two of your knitting bags and absolutely love them. I also love the roving with the mixed colors that I would never have chosen until I saw some of your yarn spun up in the Phat Fiber box! Thanks for sharing your talent with us! We love it!
