Me......again

Yeah, I know I posted once today already but that was shop stuff and doesn't count. This will be quick because I'm stealing time while Eric cooks dinner. I don't cook.........the sound of the smoke detector going off sets my teeth on edge. Anyway here are some of the goodies the kids and I have made over the 1st week (cripes, they still have one more week) of Christmas vacation.
Katie got a sewing machine for Christmas--I found a REALLY nice one at an auction for $17!! She's been testing it out and made a pillow. Not bad for a first try! She's very proud of it and I think I'm going to have to put my fabric stash under lock and key.

Alex has been making oragami flowers for me and some gorgeous snowflakes out of scrapbooking paper. I'm going to see if I can talk him into making some more so I can hang them from the ceiling in my "computer cubicle". Nothing like an indoor blizzard.....
Eric also gave him some tools and a small screwdriver set so now he's taking everything apart. I think that's going to get dangerous but Eric can deal with that.....he is the one who gave him the tools.
I've started a pair of cabeled "gauntlets" (fingerless gloves) in a pattern in one of the newer issues of Interweave Knits. I'm doing it in Bare Sheep yarn BFL. We'll see how it goes.........right now I'm using size 0 needles for the cabeling and we're out of vodka. Not good. I just spun up 4oz. of romney wool roving I got from Leah at Yarn or A Tale in her Berry Fool colorway. Ethel, my Ashford spinning wheel ($12 at an auction---God I love auctions!) did a fabulous job and got it pretty even in a fingering to sport weight yarn. I just sat there and pedaled. Okay, I think I hear people looking for me. You all have a nice evening and remember "You can't get there from here"

My daughter is an art teacher in a middle school and she teaches her students origami.
The kids love it!
